Obese drivers offered weight tips

The transport company, Stagecoach, is providing advice to obese employees who exceed seat weight limits on how to slim down.

Stagecoach, who employ 14,400 drivers, are offering employees who weigh in excess of 20 stones advice on how to lose weight, or where they cannot lose weight, an alternative role. This is to ensure that they comply with the weight limits imposed on seats by vehicle manufacturers.

Stagecoach have said they have reminded all of their employees of the safe working load limits for the vehicles in their fleet and are taking care to ensure that the weight limits are adhered to. However, they acknowledge that drivers themselves have a responsibility for their own health to ensure they are fit to work and meet the requirements of the job.
